Senior Master Donnie Barger

7th Degree Black Belt

Senior Master Donnie Barger, who started teaching in 1973, currently holds his 7th degree black belt. In 35 years of teaching the art of Shaolin Do, the loyalty, respect and discipline that goes with it all has made him more than a Senior Master but also a person that respects others as well as his self. He now oversees his master students who teach at Northern Kentucky Shaolin Do.

“I thank God, Grand Master Sin The and Elder Master Bill Leonard for all that I have been taught and have achieved in Shaolin Kung Fu. No wonder the Shaolin Monks are the best martial artists in the world; just imagine how our minds and bodies would be if we worked out physically and mentally seven days a week.”-Senior Master Donnie

Master Keith Krummen

5th Degree Black Belt

Master  Keith Krummen, currently with his 5th degree black belt, started his training of Shaolin Do in 1993 and became an instructor in '00. Like most, his motivation at the beginning of training was first driven by learning to fight and obtaining his black belt. However as time passed he noticed the true influences Shaolin had on his life and it was less about the superficial goals. What he likes about Shaolin Do is the benefits you can receive from the meditation, tai-chi and pakua as well as the way the training conditions both body and mind.

Not only are you getting a cardiovascular and muscular workout, there is the improvement of ones focus, concentration and mental discipline. He also appreciates how Shaolin Do is like a big family. There are so many different fighting styles and each student will discover their own area of interest but everyone works together to make each other better. Shaolin Do overall is a place to improve your entire well being.

Sifu Jonathan Martin

4th Degree Black Belt

At age 12, Jonathan Martin started studying Shaolin Do in 1997 under Sifu John Hagy, senior student of Master Mike Kemper and later went on to test for his black belt in December of 1999. In 2006, after moving to the Northern Kentucky area, Jonathan continued his training with Master Rick Felice and tested for his 2nd degree black belt a year later.

He is motivated to keep training so that he can pass on his knowledge to future students. The thing that he appreciates most about Northern Kentucky Shaolin Do is the level of comradeship that exists between students and instructors and the knowledge that is held by all the Masters.
